John Shrapnel
John Morley Shrapnel (born April 27, 1942 in Birmingham - † February 14, 2020 ) was a British theater and film actor .
Life
John Shrapnel, the son of journalist Norman Shrapnel ( The Guardian ), grew up in Manchester . As a stage actor he was a member of the Royal National Theater (under Laurence Olivier ) and the Royal Shakespeare Company . He starred in the BBC Television Shakespeare series and in numerous other Shakespeare productions.
In 1975 he married Francesca Ann Bartley, the younger daughter of actress Deborah Kerr . They have three sons: the screenwriter Joe Sebastian (* 1976) and the actors Alexander Lex Carey (* 1979) and Thomas Tom Heydon (* 1981).
John Shrapnel's filmography includes over 50 international cinema and TV films.
His younger brother Hugh (* 1947) works as a composer.
