Peter Egan (born September 28, 1946 in London ) is a British actor .

life and career

Peter Egan was born in 1946 in the British capital of London to Michael Thomas and Doris Egan. His schooling he enjoyed at the City of Westminster situated St. George's Roman Catholic Comprehensive School Maida Vale . He made his debut in front of the camera in 1967 as a reporter in an episode role on the television series The Troubleshooter . The following year, Peter Egan drew attention to himself in the role of sex and cinema obsessed Seth Starkadder on the BBC series Cold Comfort Farm . In the following decades he worked in numerous television and film productions. In 1974 he received a British Academy Film Award for Best Young Actor. In German-speaking countries he became known for his participation in the comedy Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Film from 1998 and the 2007 black comedy Die for Beginners , in which he played the doctor Victor.

Since February 17, 1977 Peter Egan has been married to the former actress Myra Frances , with whom he has one child.

In his position as the British Ambassador of the Animals Asia Foundation , Peter Egan is committed to the closure of bear bile farms in Asia.
