Award winners and nominations
With seven nominations each, Fred Zinnemann's Der Schakal and Nicolas Roeg's When the Gondolas Bear Mourning were the favorites. Most BAFTAs, however, ended up receiving The American Night and Embassy for Lady Franklin , who also won three awards for every three nominations.
