The 28th British Academy Film Awards ceremony took place in London in 1975 . The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) film awards were presented in 19 categories; there was also an honorary award. The awards were given to films made in 1974 .

Award winners and nominations

In the run-up to the event, Roman Polanski's Chinatown with eleven and Sidney Lumet's Murder on the Orient Express with ten nominations were the big favorites of the awards. Chinatown finally received three BAFTAs, as many as The Great Gatsby , which had been nominated three times in advance. One of the losers of the evening was The Three Musketeers , who received five nominations.
