Jean-Louis Ducarme is a sound engineer .

Life

Ducarme began his career in the late 1960s and had his film debut in 1968 with Jean Collomb's documentary Men, Girls and Medals . In 1969 he worked on Stanley Donen's comedy Under the Stairs . In 1973 he first worked with William Friedkin . For his horror film The Exorcist , he was nominated for the first time in 1975 for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Sound . 1978 he was responsible for Friedkin Drama Sorcerer together with Robert Knudson , Robert J. Glass and Richard Tyler for the Oscar in the category Best Sound nominated, but the award went this year to George Lucas ' science fiction film Star Wars . The third and last joint film with Friedkin was Life and Die in LA from 1985. Ducarme was nominated two more times for the BAFTA Film Award, 1981 for Don Giovanni and 1984 for La Traviata .

In addition to his work for the film, he was also involved in several television productions, including five episodes of the crime series Maigret in 1993 and 1994, his last work in the film and television business.
