British Academy Film Awards 1985

The 38th British Academy Film Awards ceremony took place in 1985 in London . The film prizes of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) were awarded in 22 categories, the most recent being a BAFTA for the best song and the best young actor . There was also a special and an honorary award category. The awards honored films from 1984 .

With thirteen nominations and eight prizes, The Killing Fields prevailed as the favorite among the nominees. The loser of the evening was Peter Yates ' An Unequal Couple , who missed out on seven nominations, as well as the film Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes , which despite six nominations only received one BAFTA.
