The 38th British Academy Film Awards ceremony took place in 1985 in London . The loser of the evening was Peter Yates ' An Unequal Couple , who missed out on seven nominations, as well as the film Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes , which despite six nominations only received one BAFTA.
