Alan Marshall

Alan Marshall (born August 12, 1938 in London ) is a British film producer.

Life

Marshall was in the film business from the early 1950s. He was involved in various documentaries as an assistant editor. In the 1970s he founded a commercial film production company with Alan Parker . In 1976 they made their first joint feature film, Bugsy Malone . The two remained closely connected for other projects, most recently they shot Angel Heart in 1987 . Another director whose films he produced several times was Paul Verhoeven . Their collaboration began in 1992 with Basic Instinct and ended with Verhoeven's last Hollywood production for the time being, Hollow Man - Invisible Danger in 2000. Since then, Marshall has not appeared as a producer anymore.

The production of the film Midnight Express earned it an Oscar nomination for Best Picture in 1979 . For Showgirls from 1995, he received the Golden Raspberry in the worst film category the following year . In 1994 he was nominated for this award for his participation in Cliffhanger - Only the Strong Survive .
