British Academy Film Awards 2000
The 53rd British Academy Film Awards ceremony took place on April 9, 2000 at Odeon Leicester Square , London . The film awards of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) were awarded in 21 categories, plus three categories of honorary awards. The Academy Fellowship was awarded to Michael Caine and Peter Bazalgette this year . The American film director Stanley Kubrick , who died in March 1999, received the award posthumously . The event was hosted by the Scottish presenter Jack Docherty .
