Annette Bening
Annette Carol Bening (born May 29, 1958 in Topeka , Kansas ) is an American actress .
Life
Bening first studied acting in San Francisco and then played theater for years. After a Tony nomination in 1987 and minor roles in TV productions received 1989 the adaptation of the letter novel Dangerous liaisons of Choderlos de Laclos the role of Catherine Merteuil in the film Valmont of Forman . The theater-experienced actress achieved her breakthrough in Hollywood with this film .
Already for the role in which a year later resulting film The Grifters by Stephen Frears she was for a Oscar nomination. She did this again in 2000 for the role of wife of Kevin Spacey in the multi-award-winning film American Beauty by Sam Mendes , for which she also received the London Critics Circle Film Award for best actress that same year .
In 2005 she won a Golden Globe for best actress for her portrait of a bored London theater diva in the film Being Julia , for which she was nominated a third time for an Oscar. For the part of a successful lesbian doctor in The Kids Are All Right (2010) she received another Golden Globe as well as the award of the New York Film Critics Association and an Oscar nomination for best actress. In 2017 she was the jury chairman of the 74th Venice International Film Festival . She is married to Warren Beatty for the second time since 1992 , with whom she has four children. Annette Bening is dubbed by Traudel Haas in many films .
