Bill Pope

William "Bill" Homer Pope [ wɪljəm hoʊmɚ poʊp ] (*  19th June 1952 in Bowling Green , Kentucky ) is an American cameraman that stands out for his work on the Matrix - trilogy and the films Spider-Man 2 and Spider Man 3 became known.

Life

Pope first studied architecture in college and received his master's degree in art from New York University . In addition to feature films, he also made music videos. He won an MTV Best Cinematography Award in 1988 for the video for Sting's song We'll Be Together . In 1989, he turned the successful video One of Metallica . From 1989 he worked primarily as a cameraman.

In 1997 he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for his work on Bound . Matrix earned him a nomination for the BAFTA Award , Spider Man 2 one for the Golden Satellite Award .

He worked with director Sam Raimi on several films, starting with Darkman from 1990 .

Pope has two sisters who are also artistically active, including the Oscar-nominated set designer Leslie Pope . He is married to the film producer Sharon Oreck .
