British Academy Film Awards 1948

The British Academy Film Awards in 1948 , known at the time as the British Film Awards , was the first award ceremony organized by the British Film Academy . The awards ceremony for 1947 took place on May 21 and 22, 1948 at the Rialto Cinema in London . Awards were given for the best British film and the best film, as well as a special prize.
