British Academy Film Awards 1988

The 41st British Academy Film Awards ceremony took place in 1989 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London . The film prizes of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) were awarded in 20 categories, plus three special or honorary award categories. The awards went to films made in 1987. The evening was hosted by Anna Ford and David Dimbleby .

Hope and Glory was a big favorite with twelve nominations in the run-up to the award ceremony, but became one of the losers of the evening with only one BAFTA. With three prizes each, Jean Florette (ten nominations) was one of the films with the most awards of the evening.
