Susan E. Morse

Susan E. Morse (* 1952 in New Jersey ) is an American film editor . She is best known for her longstanding collaboration with Woody Allen . From Manhattan (1979) to Celebrity - Beautiful. Rich. Famous. (1998) she was responsible for editing over 20 Allen films.

Life

Susan E. Morse studied history at Yale University and attended the School of Film and Television in New York for a year . During this time she worked for Barry Sonnenfeld as a camera operator and assisted the editor Ralph Rosenblum , who was editing Woody Allen's films at the time. She decided against continuing her studies and began working on the film Der Stadtneurotiker . With her long-time friend Thelma Schoonmaker , Martin Scorsese's regular editor, she also worked on his film Wie ein Wilder Stier , for which she was an assistant editor.

Awards

For Hannah and her sisters , Morse was nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA Award . For the BAFTA Award she was also nominated for Radio Days , Zelig and Manhattan .
