Barry Sonnenfeld (born April 1, 1953 in New York City ) is an American film director , film producer and former cameraman .

Live and act

After graduating from New York University of Film School in 1978, Barry Sonnenfeld made films in various fields. According to his own account, he made nine porn films in nine days. He also made industrial films and documentaries , and in 1982 the Oscar-nominated documentary “In Our Water” . From 1984 he worked with the Coen brothers and was cameraman for their films Blood Simple , Arizona Junior and Miller's Crossing . In 1991 he made his debut as a director with Addams Family . His biggest hits to date have been Men in Black , which grossed $ 589 million worldwide, and the sequel Men in Black II (total grossing $ 441 million).

In 2000, Sonnenfeld received a Golden Raspberry for worst director for his film Wild Wild West .
