The tick
The Tick is an American comic series whose main character was designed by Ben Edlund in 1986 as a parody of comic superheroes . Originally a mascot for a Boston comic book chain , The Tick became its own comic series in 1988.
Characters
Tick
Almost invulnerable superhero in a blue beetle suit who protects “the city”. Yet he feels pain.
Arthur
He used to work as an accountant and is the superhero's sidekick . He has no superpowers of his own, but he is very brave and draws his strength from his sophisticated suit. Arthur is Jewish and has a sister named Dot.
terror
Villain and adversary who escapes deadly situations. He is at least 150 years old.

Between 1988 and 1993 twelve volumes of comic were published before Ben Englund discontinued the series and continued in the animated series produced from 1994.

Adaptations
The Tick became popular in 1994 through an animated series of the same name on Fox . To accompany the series, a computer game was created in the same year and a board game in 1996. In Germany, the animated series came from October 1995 under the title Der Tick on television. The series was broadcast every Sunday at 10:15 am as part of the children's program on Pro Sieben and was repeated several times on other channels until 2004.
In 2001, a short-lived live-action television series was created with Patrick Warburton in the lead role. The series was produced by Barry Josephson .
Since 2016, the television series The Tick has been produced with the participation of Ben Edlund and is published as a video on demand offer. Peter Serafinowicz as Tick and Griffin Newman as his assistant Arthur can be seen in the main roles .
