Massy Tadjedin (* 1976 in Tehran , Iran ) is an Iranian -American film director and screenwriter .

Life

Born in Iran, Massy Tadjedin grew up in Orange County , California . She graduated from Harvard University in 1999 with a degree in English Literature . Her first drama Leo , directed by Mehdi Norowzian and starring Joseph Fiennes , Dennis Hopper and Elisabeth Shue , was released in 2002. After writing the screenplay for the mystery thriller The Jacket , starring Adrien Brody , Keira Knightley and Kris Kristofferson , she made her debut as a director with the drama Last Night .
