Hasso von Hugo (makeup artist)

Hasso von Hugo (born October 5, 1946 in Cologne ) is a German make- up artist who, in addition to his international activities, runs a make-up school named after him in Berlin .

Life

Von Hugo initially trained as a hairdresser , which he completed in 1964. After a traineeship as a make-up artist, he worked from 1968 to 1975 in this profession at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Schillertheater Berlin . He then worked as a freelance makeup artist for eleven years. During this time he made his hairdressing exam in 1977.

From 1986 to 1990 Hugo was the head make-up artist at the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin, before founding the Hasso von Hugo GmbH make- up school in 1990 , which trains people to work in film, television and theater. He also works as a make-up supervisor and special effects make-up artist for cinema productions at home and abroad . In 2001 he became an expert at the Federal Institute for Vocational Training .

In addition, he was and is also involved in German television series such as Jack Holborn , Sophie - Bride against his will or Verliebt in Berlin . With the latter, he pushed through his idea of masking the leading actress Alexandra Neldel with braces against the concerns of the producers. He has also been responsible for the mask in Brigitte Grothum's production of Jedermann in Berlin for several years .
