Chris Walas

Chris Walas (* 1955 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American special effects artist and makeup artist .

Life

Walas has been in the film business since the late 1970s.

Chris Walas received the Oscar in 1987 for his work on the make-up for the film Die Fliege . In the same year and for the same film, he was awarded the Saturn Award . He had previously received this award in 1985 for the best special effects at Gremlins .

In 1989 he made his debut as a director and directed Die Fliege 2 . He then shot an episode of the Tales from the Crypt series and the film Scary - Horror Trip to Madness (1992). As a screenwriter, he was involved in the 2017 film Journey to the Forbidden Valley .
