Favorite All or nothing was one of the winners of the evening with three prizes out of eleven nominations. Only William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet was more successful, receiving four prizes out of seven nominations. With twelve nominations, but only two awards, LA Confidential was considered one of the big losers of the evening. Titanic came away empty-handed with ten nominations. The Academy's handling of the film Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Film , which was extremely successful with £ 137 million at the box office, but received no nomination for a BAFTA, had caused criticism in advance .
