Mark A. Lasoff

Mark A. Lasoff (born before 1984) is a special effects artist who won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 1998 for Titanic .

Life

He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1984 and computer and information science from the University of Delaware in 1995 . He then completed a master's degree in computer science at the University of Maryland , which he graduated in 1988.

He began his career in the field of visual effects as a software developer for Total Recall . From 1992 he worked for Sony Pictures Imageworks on films such as Last Action Hero and In the Line of Fire - The Second Chance . From 1993 he worked for Digital Domain on films such as Interview with a Vampire , Apollo 13 and Titanic , for which he received the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects . In 1998 he switched to Station X Studios . After further positions at Electronic Arts and Alias ​​Custom Development Center , he joined Pacific Title & Art in 2008 .
