Les Landes-Genusson is a French commune with 2,387 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre . The inhabitants are called Landais .
geography
Les Landes-Genusson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tiffauges in the north, Saint-Matin-des-Tilleuls in the east and northeast, La Gaubretière in the east and southeast, Bazoges-en-Paillers in the south, La Boissière-de-Montaigu in the west and southwest , Treize-Septiers in the west and north-west and La Bruffière in the north-west. The river Crûme limits the municipality to the northeast.
history
On February 11, 1794, the republican troops massacred 88 women and children in the loyal Vendée in the village of Les Landes-Genusson.
