Saint-Paul-Mont-Penit is a municipality with 811 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the western French department of Vendée in the southwest of the Pays de la Loire region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Challans (until 2015: canton Palluau ). The inhabitants are called chapellois .

location

Saint-Paul-Mont-Penit is located about 22 kilometers northwest of La Roche-sur-Yon . The Petite Boulogne River limits the municipality to the east and south-east. Saint-Paul-Mont-Penit is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Falleron in the north, Grand'Landes in the northeast, Palluau in the east, La Chapelle-Palluau in the south and southeast, Maché in the south and southwest and Saint-Christophe-du-Ligneron in the west .
