Bournezeau is a French municipality with 3373 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and is part of the canton of Chantonnay . The inhabitants are called Chantonnaisien (ne) .

geography

Bournezeau is bounded to the north by the Petit Lay River . Bournezeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-le-Vouhis in the north and northeast, Chantonnay in the east and northeast, La Réorthe in the southeast, Sainte-Hermine and Sainte-Pexine in the south, Les Pineaux in the south and southwest, Thorigny in the west and Southwest and Fougeré in the west and northwest. The A83 autoroute (connection Bournezeau-Chantonnay) and the former national route 148 and 149bis (today's D949B) run through the municipality .
