Le Poiré-sur-Vie is a French municipality with 8509 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon , the municipality association Vie et Boulogne and the canton of Aizenay . The inhabitants are called Genôts .
geography
Le Poiré-sur-Vie is located 13 kilometers northwest of La Roche-sur-Yon . The river Vie crosses the municipality. Le Poiré-sur-Vie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beaufou in the north, Belleville-sur-Vie in the east, Dompierre-sur-Yon in the southeast, Mouilleron-le-Captif and La Génétouze in the south, Aizenay and La Chapelle-Palluau in the west and Palluau in the northwest.
