Cugand is a French municipality with 3498 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre . The inhabitants are called Cugandais .
geography
Cugand is the northernmost municipality in the Vendée department. It is located on the Maingot river , a tributary of the Sèvre Nantaise , which borders the municipality in the north. Cugand is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Géttigné in the north and east, Boussay in the southeast, La Bruffière in the south, La Bernardière in the southwest, Saint-Hilaire-de-Clisson in the west and Clisson in the northwest.
The former Route nationale 755 runs through the municipality . The Muscadet grapes are also grown in the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais wine-growing region .
