Sigournais is a French municipality with 896 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and is part of the canton of Chantonnay . The inhabitants are called Sigournaisiens .
geography
Sigournais is located about 35 kilometers east-northeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . The municipality is bounded to the east by the river Lay . Sigournais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Prouant in the north, Monsireigne in the east and northeast, Chavagnes-les-Redoux in the east, Bazoges-en-Pareds in the southeast, Chantonnay in the south and southwest and Saint-Germain-de-Prinçay in the west and Northwest.
