Beaufou is a French commune with 1,508 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Aizenay (until 2015: canton Le Poiré-sur-Vie ). The inhabitants are called Meillerets .

geography

Beaufou is about 18 kilometers north-northwest of the city center of La Roche-sur-Yons . Beaufou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne in the north, Saligny in the east, Belleville-sur-Vie in the south-east, Le Poiré-sur-Vie in the south, Palluau in the south-west and Saint-Étienne-du-Bois in the west.
