Essarts en Bocage is a French commune in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It is part of the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Chantonnay . The inhabitants are called Essartois .
Essarts-en-Bocage was formed as Commune nouvelle on January 1, 2016 from the municipalities of Boulogne , Les Essarts , L'Oie and Sainte-Florence . In terms of area, it is the second largest municipality in the Vendée department.

geography
Essarts-en-Bocage is about 16 kilometers northeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . Essarts en Bocage is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chauché in the north and north-west, Saint-André-Goule-d'Oie in the north, Vendrennes in the north and north-east, Mouchamps in the east, Sainte-Cécile in the south and south-east, Saint-Martin-des- Noyers in the south, La Merlatière in the west and southwest and Dompierre-sur-Yon in the west.
Autoroute A83 and Autoroute A87 intersect in the municipality .
Community partnerships
Through the former canton of Les Essarts, partnerships exist with the British municipality of Bicester in Oxfordshire (England) and with the German municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia.
