Sainte-Florence is a former French commune with 1,259 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belonged to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Chantonnay (until 2015: canton Les Essarts ). The inhabitants are called Florentins .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the communes of Sainte-Florence , Boulogne , L'Oie and Les Essarts were merged into a commune nouvelle called Essarts en Bocage .
