Chanverrie is a French municipality with 5517 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It is part of the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities Chambretaud and La Verrie , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in La Verrie.

geography

Chanverrie is about 55 kilometers southeast of Nantes . Chanverrie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Aubin-des-Ormeaux in the north and north-west, Mortagne-sur-Sèvre in the north and north-east, Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre in the east, Saint-Malô-du-Bois in the east and south-east, Les Epesses in the south and south-east, Les Herbiers in the south, La Gaubretière in the west and south-west and Saint-Martin-des-Tilleuls in the west.

The A87 car route runs through the municipality .

Community partnerships

Since 1992 and 1994 there has been a permanent partnership between La Verrie and the German municipality of Germaringen in the Bavarian Allgäu . There is also a partnership with Volovăț in Suceava County in Romania.

There is also a partnership with the Romanian municipality of Portiţa in Satu Mare County.
