Chambretaud is a village and a former French commune with 1,563 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It was part of the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre . The inhabitants are called Chambretaudais .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Chambretaud and La Verrie were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Chanverrie and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in La Verrie.
geography
Chambretaud is located about 45 kilometers northeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . The Crûme rises in the north of the municipality. Chambretaud is surrounded by the towns of La Verrie in the north, Saint-Malô-du-Bois in the east, Les Epesses in the southeast, Les Herbiers in the south and southwest and La Gaubretière in the west.
Route nationale 160 (today's D160) runs through the village .
