action

Jeb Maynard works in California on the Mexican border with the United States Border Patrol . One night, his colleague Scooter Jackson was shot dead by the smuggler Hotchkiss while he was inspecting a truck in which illegal immigrants were being smuggled. The Mexican boy Benito, who wanted to see his mother Elena, who works in La Jolla , is also killed. The FBI believes that the murders involved drug smuggling and ends the investigation after the truck with the dead driver is found.

Maynard, however, continues to investigate and can persuade Elena to go with him to Mexico in order to illegally cross the border with a smuggler group from there. He hopes to track down the murderer. However, his plan does not work because the group is attacked and the leader abandons them. Later, his colleague Jimmy Fante tracked down the smugglers and Maynard found out that the gang wanted to smuggle a total of 2,000 Mexicans into the country over the Christmas holidays , divided into several groups. Together with his colleagues, he storms the farm that the smugglers use as their headquarters , and during the course of the night they receive the individual groups and arrest the smugglers. Hotchkiss, who led the last group, escapes arrest and escapes in his car, pursued by Maynard. When his car gets stuck, he continues to flee on foot. Maynard catches him, and when Hotchkiss shoots him, he shoots back, killing Hotchkiss in self-defense .

Reviews

"An unoriginal, simplistic variant of the much more successful genre film ' Grenzpatrouille ' by Tony Richardson , which does not meet the political and human dimensions of the subject."

“[...] although attempts are being made to seriously deal with the problem of illegal immigration to the USA, 'Der Grenzwolf' silts up on average - especially in comparison with the similarly designed 'Border Patrol' (with Jack Nicholson ). "
