Katharina Lind

Katharina Lind (born December 4, 1936 in Neuwedell ) is a German actress .

Life

From 1955 to 1958, Lind completed an acting training at the University of Film and Television Potsdam . She made her debut as a theater actress with the Berliner Ensemble . This was followed by theater festival engagements at the Meiningen and Greifswald theaters . From 1961 to 1970 Lind worked as a freelance actress with guest engagements at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where she worked with Benno Besson , and at the Thuringian State Theater in Eisenach . In 1965 she played at the Deutsches Theater, alongside Eberhard Esche ( Lancelot ) and Rolf Ludwig (Old Man / Dragon), directed by Benno Besson as Elsa in the fairy tale comedy Der Drache by Evgeni Schwarz . From 1970 to 1975 she had another permanent engagement at the Brandenburger Theater in Brandenburg an der Havel . After that she was freelance again. In 1971 she played the role of Mrs. Foran in the GDR premiere of the tragic comedy Der Preispokal ( The Silver Tassie ) by Seán O'Casey .

Lind made her debut in the roles of young girls at DEFA and DFF in the early 1960s . So she played the role of Margot in the contemporary film ... and your love too . In particular, her “unruly unlucky marie” in the fairy tale film Frau Holle is remembered. Lind, who had to play the widow's lazy daughter in such a way that even children could identify with her, turned out to be the representative of the "type of female character comedian, which is rare in films." The Berliner Zeitung wrote about this on the occasion of the DVD release From Frau Holle : "As unlucky marie, Katharina Lind is so snippy and lazy that watching children just want to tackle the next morning happily and diligently." In 1964 she played the girl Lies in the fairytale film The Golden Goose . Lind later switched to maternity care. So she took over the mother Gastl in Abschied under the direction of Egon Günther , a film adaptation of the novel Farewell by Johannes R. Becher . A photo with Lind as well as with Rolf Ludwig, Heidemarie Wenzel and Jan Spitzer from the film Farewell was in 1994 in the text and photo book The Second Life of the Film City Babelsberg . DEFA feature films 1946-1992 published by Henschel-Verlag . In 1971 she played with Marylu Poolman in the feature film KLK on PTX - The Red Orchestra .

Lind also worked as a spokesperson for documentaries , radio plays and as a voice actress . In 1961 she appeared in a radio play version of the radio in the GDR in the drama Death of a Salesman .
