Henri Meilhac
Henri Meilhac (born February 21, 1831 in Paris ; † July 6, 1897 there ) was a French playwright and librettist .
Life
Henri Meilhac attended the Lycée Louis-le-Grand , then occupied himself with drawing for several years (as an employee of the Journal pour rire ) and brought his first two plays on the stage in 1855, which did not have any external success, but were considered by the critics Samples of a not insignificant inventive talent were recognized, which soon broke ground. Since 1888 he was a member of the Académie française .
