Yevgeny Lvovich Black ( Russian Евгений Львович Шварц ., Scientific transliteration Evgenij L'vovič Švarc ; * 9. jul. / 21st October  1896 greg. In Kazan ; † 15. January 1958 in Leningrad ) was a Russian writer and playwright .

Life

He studied law until 1917 in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don Law . He broke off his studies because of his participation in the First World War and played as an actor through provincial theaters and worked in 1923/24 for various children's magazines in the Donets region and from 1930 as a playwright .

The acquaintance with the children's book author Samuil Marschak encouraged Schwarz to write plays himself.

Above all, Schwarz wrote around 30 pieces of fairy tale and used their symbols, motifs and figures to denounce the political and ideological conditions of his time.
