Marylu Poolman

Marylu Poolman (born October 3, 1936 in Amsterdam , North Holland , † May 22, 2004 in Leipzig , Saxony ) was a Dutch actress .

Life

Marylu Poolman came from an artistic background. Her grandparents and parents were already active as actors. Poolman completed an acting training at the Berlin Max Reinhardt School for Acting with Hilde Körber and Otto Graf . From 1956 until her official farewell in the summer of 2002, she was an uninterrupted member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Leipzig for 46 years . She played over 80 different roles there. In 1997 she appeared in a guest performance by the Leipzig Theater with the play The Order by Heiner Müller at the Volksbühne Berlin .

Poolman made her film debut at DEFA in 1961 in the contemporary film Drei Kapitel Glück . In the 1970s and 1980s in particular, she made a lasting impression in film and television. In the 1975 film adaptation of Heinrich Mann, Im Schlaraffenland , she played the role of his wife Adelheid Türkheimer , who sponsored and financially supported a young poet from the provinces. In 1976 she took part in the fairy tale film The Blue Light , in which she made an "exceptionally memorable appearance as a sensual witch". In 1982 she delivered a "cabinet piece" in the role of the refined Dr. Eggenfels in the comedy Märkische Forschungen by Roland Gräf . In 1983 she shone as Ms. Sengebusch in the comedy Car Tales . In 1988 she took on the role of the maid Berta in the fairy tale film The Story of the Goose Princess and her faithful horse Falada . In 2003 she had a small role as a retiree in the comedy Schultze Gets the Blues . At the DFF she also played in several productions at the Moritzburg television theater and in several episodes of the crime series Polizeiruf 110 and The Public Prosecutor Has the Word .

In 1973 she took on the role of Adelheid von Walldorf at the side of Fred Düren and Ekkehard Schall in a radio play version of Goethe's play Götz von Berlichingen . The recording is also in the holdings of the German Broadcasting Archive . Also in 1973 she took part in the children's radio play The Horse Girl . In 1978 she played the title role of the bat in the science fiction radio play Encounter with a Bat by Heiner Rank .

After the fall of the Wall , she mainly worked as a stage actress and continued to take on numerous radio play roles , including in 1992 as an old woman in the children's radio play Princess Behind Thorn Hedge (based on the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty ) and in 1995 as a speaker in Pious Lies based on the novel by Irene Dische . In 1993 she worked as a woman Zetsche in the Kriminalhörspiel bank robbery by Andreas Berger heard. In 1993 she took on the role of housekeeper Mrs. Pearce in the radio play version of George Bernard Shaw's comedy Pygmalion . In 1994, MDR again played a role in the radio play version of the novel Fahrenheit 451 . Occasionally, she also worked as a voice actor , so in 1976 for Joan Collins in the GDR TV dubbed night, the fear comes the film Fear in the Night (1972). In 1981 she was the dubbing voice of Gale Sondergaard in the DEFA dubbed version The Spider Woman of the film The Spider's Nest (1944).

Her partner was the Leipzig theater actor Paul-Dolf Neis (1933–1996). Marylu Poolman was buried at sea . Her daughter Frauke Poolman and granddaughter Marylu-Saskia Poolman are also actresses.
