Norbert Schaeffer

Norbert Schaeffer (* 1949 in Saarbrücken , † 21st April 2020 ) was a German radio play - Director and-author.

Life

Schaeffer studied German, sociology and political science at Saarland University . In 1978 he was with a thesis on a method for researching and teaching spoken language doctorate . From 1979 to 1981 he trained as a radio journalist at Saarländischer Rundfunk , then worked as an assistant director, from 1984 to 2006 as a freelance director and author of radio plays. From March 2006 to May 2014, Norbert Schaeffer was head of the radio play department of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk .

The weekly newspaper der Freitag wrote about his way of working as a radio play director : "Instructions from Schaeffer are rare, interruptions even more rare."

A few years before his death, Schaeffer relocated to Brittany . He died in April 2020 at the age of 71 from complications from cancer .
