Kurt Magnus Prize
The Kurt Magnus Prize is a radio prize that is awarded to promote young talent for above-average performance in radio journalism and is considered to be "one of the most important radio prizes in Germany".
history
The prize was donated by ARD in 1962 in memory of Kurt Magnus , one of the pioneers of German broadcasting and former chairman of the board of directors of Hessischer Rundfunk, and was first awarded in 1963.
The maximum age for participation is 35 years.
Up to 2002, up to ten prizes were awarded annually under the leadership of Hessischer Rundfunk, and since then a maximum of five prizes. The prize is linked to monetary bonuses or training grants totaling 25,000 euros.
