Maximilian Schönherr (born December 27, 1954 in Haßfurt ) is a German journalist , musician and photographer .

Life

After studying mathematics and physics at the Universities of Würzburg and Munich , he worked for Bavarian Broadcasting . In 1986 he received the Kurt Magnus Prize , one of “the most important radio awards in Germany”, for Bit, byte, bitten , the first series on computers on ARD radio . From 1987 to 1988 he traveled to Great Britain and the USA, as well as shorter stays in South Korea, Japan and China. Since 1995 he has been working regularly for Deutschlandfunk and WDR . In 2008 the Charité awarded him the "Medicine - Human - Technology" media prize for the radio feature "Smarties for the prostate - IT-based visualization techniques in medicine". In 2009 and 2014 he received the German Audio Book Prize for the best non-fiction audio book.

His contributions to Deutschlandfunk include: a. in the daily radio magazine research current , whose Saturday edition Computer and Communication and the Sunday edition Science in focus appeared.

Since 1987 Schönherr has been writing occasionally for the computer magazine c't . He has written several books on the subject of computer animation with Maya and in 2001/2002 had lectureships in visual communication at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences and the Ludwigsburg Film Academy .

Schönherr is also a musician and photographer and has been an author in German and later in English Wikipedia since 2007 .
