Michaela Pilters

Michaela Pilters (born December 5, 1952 in Krumbach ) is a German journalist .

Life

Michaela Pilters was born in Krumbach in 1952 . She attended the Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium in her hometown until 1972 and then completed a degree in Catholic theology and German studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich until 1977 . Until 1975 she was also enrolled at the University of Philosophy in Munich for the subjects of philosophy and adult education . After completing her studies, she was an editor at the Catholic News Agency and the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation . Since 1985, Pilters has headed the Catholic section of the double editorial team “Church and Life” (divided into a Catholic and a Protestant editorial team) at ZDF .

Michaela Pilters is also active in the Society of Catholic Publicists in Germany (GKP) and served as its chairman for many years, most recently from 2013 to 2015. She held this office for three terms from 1999 to 2009. She previously held the deputy position from 1978 to 1981 for a term of office and from 1984 to 1999 for five periods, which she held again from 2009 to 2012. She is still a member of the GKP board as a co-opted member without voting rights.
