Anja Tuckermann

Anja Tuckermann (born November 24, 1961 in Selb , Bavaria ) is a German author of novels , stories and plays and a journalist .

Live and act

Anja Tuckermann grew up in Berlin-Kreuzberg . From 1980 to 1991 she was involved in the feminist girls' movement and published the magazine she founded, Tiger Girls , which published texts by children and young people. As part of her work for a youth association, she organized and supervised trips for children and young people within Germany, to Austria, England and, above all, to Turkey. From 1988 to 1992 she worked as an editor and until 1997 freelance in the children's radio department of the RIAS (today Deutschlandradio ). Since 1993 she has been running writing workshops for young people and adults for writing prose and plays.

Anja Tuckermann has written novels, plays , libretti and other texts for music and short prose . Her first book was translated into several languages, her best-known books are the documentary-biographical novels “ Muscha. A Sinti child in the Third Reich ”,“ Don't think we'll stay here ”about Hugo Höllenreiner and Mano. The boy who didn't know where he was about Hermann Höllenreiner . They deal with the fate of Sinti children during the National Socialist regime and after the war. Her books have been translated into Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Dutch, French, English, Spanish, Catalan, Turkish, Kazakh and Chinese.

She is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) and was on the board of VS Berlin from 2000 to 2014. In 2014 she was named Magdeburg City Clerk .
