Christian Schiffer (born February 2, 1979 in Munich ) is a German journalist and radio presenter . He is an editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk and co-editor of WASD - Bookazine for Games Culture .

Life

Schiffer grew up in Munich, where he studied economic and social geography at the Ludwig Maximilians University and political science at the University of Politics . After working for various media, he joined the scene magazine Zündfunk of Bayerischer Rundfunk in 2008 and is now an editor and columnist there.

Since 2012, together with the Munich graphic artist Markus Weissenhorn, he has published the twice-yearly and award-winning WASD - Bookazine for Games Culture . He also works for Deutschlandradio , various other ARD broadcasters and, with Jolyne Schürmann , moderates the program “ Netzfilter ” on PULS and “Netzmagazin” on Bayern 5 . In terms of content, he deals, among other things, with the social effects of digitization; His main topics also include politics and pop culture. He also works as a speaker and moderator, for example at the re: publica in 2015 on shitstorms and hoaxes or in 2016 on computer game culture.

In 2016, Schiffer worked on the German “ killer game ” debate for ZDF with three television documentaries. These were nominated for the Grimme Prize in 2017 .

Since January 2019 he and Christian Alt have been running the Last Game Standing podcast, which deals with computer games.
