Hubert Wiedfeld

Hubert Wiedfeld (born June 13, 1937 in Braunschweig ; † June 2, 2013 ) was a German writer and radio play author .

Life

Wiedfeld was born the son of a worker. He spent his childhood in Schöppenstedt in the Wolfenbüttel district and did an apprenticeship as a banker. After graduating from high school, he studied psychology and German in Tübingen and Hamburg and worked in parallel to his studies in a juvenile prison and in a sanatorium and nursing home. From 1977 he worked as a freelance writer. Most recently he lived in a village near Hamburg.

In 2011 he was awarded the Günter Eich Prize for his life's work as a radio play author.
