Christoph Buggert

Christoph Buggert (born June 17, 1937 in Świnoujście ) is a German writer , radio play dramaturge and was head of the radio play department of the Hessian broadcasting company .

Life

Christoph Buggert, the son of a Protestant pastor, grew up in Stargard in Pomerania , Halle (Saale) and Bremen. After studying at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he received his doctorate in 1967 in Munich with a thesis on Adalbert Stifter . In 1973, together with Martin Gregor-Dellin , Jürgen Kolbe , Michael Krüger , Fritz Arnold, Paul Wühr , Inge Poppe , Günter Herburger , Tankred Dorst and Peter Laemmle, he founded the first cooperatively organized author's bookstore in Munich . From 1972 to 1976 he was radio play dramaturge at Bayerischer Rundfunk and from 1976 to 2002 head of the radio play department of Hessischer Rundfunk; At times he also headed the culture wave hr2-kultur .

In addition to his professional activity, he has been writing literary texts and contributing to radio history since the 1960s. While still studying and during a period of several years as a freelance writer, he mainly published original radio plays, as they were a good way to earn a living at the time. He later preferred to be able to act as editor-in-chief. In 1990 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt. His debut novel Das Pfarrhaus , dedicated to literary fantasy, was later republished under the new title In the fourth room of time .

Buggert is a member of the Presidium of the German Academy of Performing Arts , which awards the radio play of the month / year. He was also chairman of the jury of the Günter Eich Prize from 2007 to 2013 .

Christoph Buggert lives today in Oberursel (Taunus) .

Awards
