Stefan Kanis
Stefan Kanis (* 1968 in Meerane ) is a German radio play and feature director . His works include literary radio plays, radio features, entertainment formats and documentaries . Kanis' productions often play with acoustic perspectives and employ collaging processes. He has repeatedly realized productions in 5.1 surround sound . Radio plays and features staged by him have received several awards.
Life
Kanis grew up in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz). From 1989 to 1995 he studied theater studies in Leipzig and Vienna. After completing his studies, Stefan Kanis became a research assistant in the field of dramaturgy at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig University of Music and Theater (HfMT). He also worked as a dramaturge, director and actor in the free theater. Kanis wrote theater reviews for daily newspapers, radio and specialist press. In 1998 he started working as a freelancer in the “Artistic Word” editorial team at MDR Kultur (today: MDR Figaro ). In April 2001 he succeeded Klaus Zippel in the position of production manager and in-house director of the radio play department of MDR Figaro .
He lives in Leipzig and the Feldberger Seenlandschaft.
