Dirk Brauns

Dirk Brauns (born 1968 in East Berlin ) is a German writer.

Life

Dirk Brauns grew up in East Berlin and after graduating from high school did three years of military service in the National People's Army . From 1990 to 1993 he studied dramaturgy and scenic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts . From 1999 he worked as a newspaper correspondent in Beijing, Warsaw and Minsk and wrote for Die Woche , Berliner Zeitung and Wirtschaftswoche , among others . He has lived in Upper Bavaria since 2013.

Brauns was invited to the Days of German-Language Literature in Klagenfurt in 1993 . In 2013 his debut novel was published in the interior of the country . His documentary novel Café Auschwitz was first published in Polish in 2013.
