The Juliane Bartel Prize - Niedersächsischer FrauenMedienPreis is a media prize and honors authors whose contributions show a realistic picture of the complex world of today's women. Among other things, the role diversity of women should be presented.

The Juliane Bartel Prize is awarded by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Women, Family and Health in cooperation with the North German Broadcasting Corporation of Lower Saxony, the Lower Saxony State Media Authority (NLM), Radio Bremen , the University of Hanover , the Lower Saxony State Women's Council and the State Working Group on Municipal Women's Offices Lower Saxony and the Networking Agency for Equal Rights, Women's Representatives and Equal Opportunities Representatives. An independent jury decides on the submitted contributions.

The Lower Saxony Women's Media Prize was first awarded in 2001 and named after the journalist and talk show host Juliane Bartel , who died in 1998 .
