Helga Pogatschar

Helga Pogatschar (born January 28, 1966 in Munich ) is a German composer.

She completed two courses, majoring in piano and composition for film and television, at the Munich University of Music and Theater . As a guest, she studied electro-acoustic composition for a year at the Gothenburg University of Music and then taught at the Munich and Hamburg University of Music. Among other things, she received the project grant for new music / media and the 2007 Music Prize of the City of Munich . In 2005/06 she received a grant at the international artist house Villa Concordia in Bamberg.

The Munich-based composer realizes her own music theater projects, in which she combines new music with electronics, dance, video and performance elements. "Mars - a Requiem", "Titus Trash Tatar" and "Inanna" of the projects appeared on CD as well as audio books in cooperation with the radio programs "Bayern2 Hörspiel & Medienkunst" and "Bayern4 Klassik". In addition to numerous commissioned compositions of various genres, Helga Pogatschar also devotes herself to setting texts for children to music.
