Achim Wagner (born July 17, 1967 in Coburg ) is a German writer .

Life

Wagner studied various subjects in Würzburg . From 1992 to 1996 he worked there as a freelance editor and proofreader and since 1993 has maintained numerous collaborations with photographers, painters and composers and also takes photos himself. In 1996 he moved to Cologne . He has lived in Berlin and Ankara since 2011 .

From 1997 to 1999 he was dramaturge for various independent music theater productions, and from 1998 to 2000 he was head of the “Endstation Project”, which organized literature, music theater and the visual arts in train stations. He initiated several literary meetings and reading series (e.g. parasites in the ARTheater of Parasitenpresse Köln), worked on literary magazines (e.g. Surrogat - magazine for surrealist art and literature ) and was a member of various literary groups and authors' initiatives (e.g. in "Roundabout", a virtual circle of poets, and the "Rhenish Brigade", which he co-founded in 2001).

In 1999 and 2002 he spent longer stays in Havana , where he also performed. In 2003 he took part in the poetry circle “The joys of the young converter” and was a guest presenter at the Lauter keine literaturlabor in Berlin . During “Dance 2004” he was dramaturge for the dance opera Traumtext (text: Heiner Müller , composition: Helga Pogatschar ) in Munich . In 2005, together with Adrian Kasnitz and Enno Stahl, he founded the Lesebühne at Brusselser Platz in Cologne. In 2012 the opera mystery - mach dir kein Bild was premiered at the 13th Munich Biennale .

Achim Wagner writes poems , essays, stories , novels and libretti . Since 1984 he has published in numerous anthologies , literary magazines and daily newspapers , such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Augsburger Allgemeine and the Berliner Morgenpost . In 2013 Wagner published a volume of poems written in Turkish in Turkey.
