The deep red Verlag, founded in 2008 by Marco Beckendorf, a German Small Press . Until 2011, the publishing house was headquartered in Perleberg and Berlin . The publishing house is now divided into branches based in Berlin, Bielefeld , Heidelberg , Leipzig , Munich , Paris , Vienna and Wiesenburg .

Publishing philosophy

The publisher sees itself as a model project for the alternative publishing scene. Since many important series of poetry by larger publishers have been discontinued in recent years, he wants to try out alternative ways of publishing and encourage further publishing initiatives. In contrast to the widespread tendency to publish poems online , hochroth relies on "books you can touch" in the classic way. The publisher is breaking new ground in production and sales. The books are produced in a mixture of hand-made and professional production and are largely sold through direct sales (book stands, vendor's trays). The editions are flexibly adapted to demand, which is why the individual volumes are given a consecutive number.

program

The publisher's program focuses on contemporary poetry , translations of foreign-language poetry and forgotten poets.
